Seven years ago, ROKAVET began with a simple observation in the dusty fields of Pryor, Oklahoma. Our founder, a civilian with a profound respect for the men and women of the armed forces, saw a unique opportunity within the Rocklahoma community: the power of music to bridge the gap between isolation and fellowship.
What started as a quiet mission to get unused concert passes into the hands of veterans has ignited into a statewide movement.
We believe that no veteran should have to navigate life's "after-action" alone. What began as a handful of donated tickets has grown into a community of over 3,800 members. As veterans themselves stepped up to lead and speak for the cause, ROKAVET transformed from a social media group into a dedicated support network.
In 2025, we reached a major milestone: officially becoming a registered 501(c)(3) charity and securing our first official vendor booth at the Rocklahoma Music Festival. This isn't just a booth; it's a "safe harbor" at festivals across the state where veterans can find resources, mental health awareness, and—most importantly—each other.

Today, ROKAVET operates on the front lines of the Oklahoma music scene. We continue to award donated festival and concert passes to veterans through our community and the Surviving Rocklahoma podcast, but our reach has grown.
We are now a presence at events across Oklahoma, dedicated to:

We envision a future where every veteran in Oklahoma—and beyond—has access to the healing power of live music and a community that truly understands their journey. A future where "safe harbors" exist at every festival and concert venue across the state.
We see a world where the "22 a Day" statistic becomes a relic of the past. Where no veteran navigates their "after-action" alone. Where the silent battles of PTSD, depression, and isolation are met with the thunderous support of a rock and roll community that refuses to let anyone fall through the cracks.
Through expanding our vendor booth presence, growing our 24/7 support network, and continuing to break down the stigma surrounding military mental health, we will build a movement where music isn't just entertainment—it's a lifeline. Where every veteran knows: you are not alone, and we've got your six.
